Plant focused front garden in Montpelier
The clients wanted to create a plant filled wildlife heaven in their front garden. Planting was to be predominantly pink and white, low maintenance and drought tolerant in a very sunny and urban landscape.
The front garden is mostly a transitionary space to pass through. It sets the scene to welcome home or bid farewell and enhances this experience.
I used a mixture of dry steppe and Mediterranean plants to create a predominantly low and moundy type planting with emergent plants punctuating. Espalier apples replace iron railings to soften the boundaries whilst maintaining division.
The garden is not only a joy for the clients but also the people of Montpelier, Bristol who pass by regularly.
This garden was expertly built by Arlington Landscapes.
