Contemporary family garden

The clients were looking for a garden that was green, immersive and stylish to create a sanctuary in their central Bristol location. Aside from this there were numerous practical requirements to accommodate without compromising on the overall aesthetic.

I ended up designing a garden that had a slightly contemporary and formal aesthetic. This is balanced by large borders with naturalistic planting. We managed to plant 6 small multistem trees which help soften the hard landscaping elements and enhance the affects of the wooded borrowed landscape.

Material selections have provided subtle variations in surfacing. Multiple seating areas are situated to capture the shifting light and shade throughout the day and seasons and a small partially screened area provides a home office retreat.

Designed whilst principal designer at artisan landscapes and built by artisan landscapes.
